ZoneGuard Fixed System
ZoneGuard’s fixed system is now smaller, lighter, easier to maintain and troubleshoot, has enhanced GPS accuracy, and is more affordable to the customer. With these new features, the system is able to maintain ZoneGuard’s multiple and diverse sensors and is now capable of retrieving train speed and direction directly from the train detection module instead of relying on the systems optional onboard unit. This information provides work crews with an additional level of redundancy that will allow the system to provide accurate alerts every time.
The system’s optional onboard unit is installed within the locomotive cab and can give train operators a warning alert when they are approaching an active work zone. While the onboard unit is not required for the system to operate, it does provide another level of communication and safety for rail maintenance crews.
The system’s cloud-based web portal can provide customers with real-time worker/work zone information, as well as, many key efficiency and safety performance reports to ensure that workers are working in compliance with federal and customer specific safety rules.

The RWIC (grey), watchman (yellow), and crew members (blue) will receive alerts on their wearable devices when trains enter established work zones.
